Tuition, Fees & Scholarships

All preschool programs are half-day, starting at 9:00 am and ending at 12:00 pm. Transitional Kindergarten is also half-day, starting at 9:00 am and ending at 1:00 pm.

We offer a 5% discount for siblings (applies to two or more children).

A nonrefundable $300 enrollment fee and deposit of one month’s tuition are due at the time of enrollment.

Age is determined by the child's age on August 31st of the school year in which they will be enrolled.

Scholarships

Family Preschool maintains and operates a tuition assistance fund to provide needs-based partial tuition scholarships. Recipients can expect to receive a 50% tuition scholarship if they would qualify for free lunch, 35% if they would qualify for reduced lunch, and 20% for those falling below the average median income of Durham & Chapel Hill (currently $63,000).

Scholarship applications are due at the same time as enrollment applications.

Scholarship decisions and notification are made in the beginning of February for the school year that will begin in September by the Scholarship Aide Review Committee. Scholarship awards are based on available funds. If additional money is available, scholarships may be awarded during the school year as needed. Extenuating circumstances are considered on a case by case basis.
